We have long carried a couple of feet of SAE J30R10 in-tank fuel hose, plus a couple of 25-ft. lengths of J30R9 high-pressure hose in several diameters. We decided to use the high-pressure line wherever it fits (except in the tank), even though it’s substantially more expensive than the low-pressure stuff.

2019/11/16· Standard 30r7 rated fuel hose will work with diesel per Gates. But not biodiesel. For biodiesel you want a 30r9 rated hose but it''s more expensive. Also most standard pump diesel is up to 10 percent bio now so you may just want to go with the 30r9 hose anyway.

It used to be recommended that SAE 30R7 was the correct rating but Gates put out a memorandom not too long ago stating the 30R9 is the proper diesel rated hose due to permeation issues on 30R7.
